Welcome Home David!

My brother in law Capt. David French is now back from Iraq! My sister really wanted a flag up at her house so my dad put one up for her last week...and it is no small flag pole. Apparently, my nephew Austin started trying to climb up the pole the day it got installed and he finally made it to the top! I thought this was the neatest picture...although I have to admit I am wondering why in the world my sister let him do this!

In wedding notes, we have our wedding website up and running now. Go visit us at www.marykateandjosh.com.

I'm Engaged!

Exciting news! Josh proposed and we are getting married on New Year's Eve! I was pushing for us to run off somewhere neat and get married but he really wanted a wedding so we are now planning a wedding in just 4 months! But we've gotten a lot accomplished in just a short time. The ceremony is going to be at Scarritt Bennett and the reception will be at The Hermitage (where he proposed!). We've even booked our honeymoon. December was a hard month to find somewhere warm but a friend suggested San Juan, Puerto Rico and after some research, we decided it would be a PERFECT spot for us! Not only are there great beaches, but apparently REALLY nice restaurants (for Josh), awesome shopping (for me) and CASINOS (for us Both!) YAY! There is also neat history there (it was founded by Ponce de León and Christopher Columbus also landed there).

In other news, I just got home from St. Paul, MN for the Republican National Convention and had a great time. It was such a neat experience and I'm glad I had the opportunity to go.

Attached are some pictures from our engagement night and some pictures from the RNC.
